Flip UltraHD Camcorder 120 Minutes : I bought this as I’m getting ready to build a new house and wanted to have a video record of the build process. Last time I just took pictures, and thought it would be cool to have videos this time. I want to be able to easily upload to a house blog that I’m creating so friends and relatives can follow the process. The week after I got it I attended my aunt and uncle’s 50th wedding anniversary and took the Flip along with me. I took about 18 different clips and then easily made them into a movie with the Flip software. The FlipShare software allows you to share by email or uploading to a Flip channel. Needless to say, they were thrilled with the end result when I sent them a copy. I only wish I owned this when my parents had their 50th anniversary! The HD video is very clear even when enlarged to full screen. It comes partially charged so I was video taping 5 minutes after I opened it up. It’s very user friendly and fun to use.

Creative Labs Vado HD 720p Pocket Video Camcorder

Creative Labs Vado Camcorder : It is very cheap. And it is HD. The quality is very good, especially for the price right now on Amazon. The sound quality is ok, people say it is very bad, but it is actually good, but not very good. It is very light and small. The camera feels very nice and comfortable, it has a matte finish. It comes with a USB extension cable. The USB is built in, so you can take it anywhere, video tape anywhere, upload anywhere, and watch anywhere. The playback on the video camera is good, so you can preview something before you watch it on a computer or a tv. It comes with a mini HD to HD wire so you can connect it to an HD screen. And it comes with a case.

Canon XH-A1S Camcorder

I recently filmed a music festival using Canon XH-A1S Camcorder for long shots, close-ups, cutaways, and static shots, everything looks amazing. A tip for the novice to high-def recording- keeping the lens clean and checking it frequently is a must. The tiniest speck of dust looks huge on playback.
I’ve used it mostly on automatic setting so far as the the music festival was happening only days after receiving Canon XH-A1S Camcorder but the little bit I’ve played around on manual setting promises unparalleled versatility, i’m very excited.

Check your computer rig, you may need an extra large disk (1-2 TB) to store these videos, and more than one if you need to keep the original AVCHD videos for post-production: DVD backups just won’t do for this kind of files, unless you have a Blu-ray writer. If you don’t need to keep the AVCHD files, burning DVDs is the best way to archive your movies. Just remember that even in HD, DVDs are highly compressed (meaning losing a lot of the quality of your original AVCHD files.) $13 will get you a very basic USB IDE/SATA external adapter, a cheap way to use obsolete hard disks to archive your videos.
